I am a Multimedia Developer, who's interested in graphic design, web design, video production, and photography. I'm always coming up with designs for album art and band logos, and practicing my singing and writing lyrics.
I have lived in Ottawa for most of my life, up until about three years ago when my mother decided that we should move out to the country into her boyfriend's house. I always found the Ottawa area fairly interesting, and I love just exploring all over, checking out the downtown area and anywhere I haven't been before.
More recently I've started doing videos for Ottawa progressive metal band Paradigm Divide. Recently, I did a video shoot of one of their shows at Club Saw downtown, one of the live recordings can be found on their Facebook page.
I am a huge fan of all styles of heavy metal, ranging from lighter metal, to extremely heavy stuff, as well as some grunge, punk, hard rock, and just general rock (depending on the band). I'm also a fan of electronica artist Lights, as surprising as that might be to some.

“He is no crusader. He is no tribune of the people. He is no enemy of entrenched privilege. He is a pleasant man who, without any important qualifications for the office, would very much like to be President.” -Pulitzer-prize winning journalist & intellectual Walter Lippmann, Jan 8, 1932, on …
Alright, I would like to take this time, since I’m in an amazing mood, to talk about how much I’m loving life right now for various reasons. In the past, I used to think that I would never be truly happy with my life, that I would always feel down, and never find friends that cared, or a girlfriend, or even be able to go out and meet my bands. I had no real hope for anything, and thought of doing dark things I would rather not go into details about.
In middle school and more so in high school, people more or less thought I was a freak or a douche cause I would listen to metal, dress a certain way, grow my hair out, etc. any girl I wanted never wanted me. In my last year at my first high school, I didn’t believe I could trust my friends, or anyone else for that matter, I was on a path of self destruction and not even realizing it. When I was told I was moving to Winchester for my final year of high school, things got even worse, I contemplated things I’m not proud of, and thought life was just over.
Now onto the bright side though, because that move to Winchester gave my life a total 180. I got a fresh start at a new school and, although I didn’t know it yet, some of the greatest friends I could ask for, as well as the beginning of a new and much better life. At first, no one would talk to me, and I felt like life would be worse than ever outside of the city I love. However, then I met Rob, who was also new at Dundas, cause he saw me just sitting alone, and thought that the way I was dressed, that I was similar to him. This was very true, we were both into metal, both had similar pasts, etc. Then, not long after, I met Skye, Steve, and Robyn, who made school that much better. I also couldn’t complain with the teachers and classes I had, they were so much better than I had for a long time, I could honestly say I enjoyed school. Second semester I also met my friend Kyle, with whom I shared a lot of similarities as well. All in all, I believe that was a great year, meeting a bunch of new friends that I’ve kept in touch with since then.
Through college was pretty much the same thing, met some cool new friends and started opening up to people again for the first time in years. I also started talking to people who used to go to Dundas, such as Evan, Brittany, Tonya, and we hung out many times, whether at shows, or just chilling out wherever, I can honestly say they’re all awesome.
More recently, I got a job at Tim Hortons and started making some money, meeting some pretty cool people there as well who I’ve started hanging out with. I’ve also gotten a girlfriend recently, which is HUGE for me, because that’s one thing I’ve wanted for so long, and she’s so awesome all around, I really like her. Whenever I’m around her, I’m just so happy, it’s a great feeling, and I hope she feels the same way. I’m also now able to talk to and hang out with the bands I’m into, thanks to losing my shyness, and just being a bit more open and impulsive.
All in all, I would like to say that my friends are amazing, I’d like to say that each and everyone one of you is awesome, and I owe so much to you all. To all of my bands (you’re probably not reading this, but I’ll say it anyway), I have to thank you all as well, for making the amazing music that I listened to through good times and bad, depressing and exciting, loving and hateful, whatever my mood was, the music was there. Also, to my girlfriend Kayla, you are soooo awesome, funny, and beautiful, and I’d like to see many years with you, cutie <3.
I guess the old saying’s true to some extent, sometimes you have to go through hell to get to heaven. Thank you once again to everyone in my life, you’re all awesome.
It’s 2012 now, the year some are saying the Mayan calendar predicts a cataclysmic upheaval across the board for our planet, perhaps even the end of the world as we know it. I don’t know if these doomsday predictions have any validity, but I do know one thing: the potential candidates in the race…
If I were an American citizen, guaranteed he would have my vote…
1. Five things you have accomplished in 2011
2. Four things you regret about 2011
3. Three people who you are glad to have met or become closer to in 2011
4. Two memorable moments from 2011
5. One wish for 2012 Happy New Year Everyone! Lets Hope it will be Better than the Last!

For this one, I’d have to go with either Sound of The Beast: The Complete Headbanging History of Heavy Metal. Sound of The Beast because it completely encompasses Metal music as a whole, going into all sub-genres and describing them perfectly, as well as covering some crucial events that shaped metal into what it is today.

Just crazy… Celldweller’s definitely an interesting project, I’ve been really into the weird/experimental nature of it since I heard the first chapter of Wish Upon a Blackstar a couple of years ago, and this just proves that his talent hasn’t dwindled at all.
Not sure why, but I find this song (and the album as a whole), to be just awesome.
